Natural Sun Screen SPF30

Finally a totally natural suncream that works! Tested at home in the UK sun before heading to Portugal and Spain for 17 days and Mallorca for a week. Up to 40 degrees walking in the sun we were still kept safe and moisturised. No white residue, glides in easily when it's warm and smells natural and pleasant. I'm recommending to everyone I meet!

This gives excellent protection from the sun, does not contain nano particles or toxic chemicals, is non-oily, and gives just a subtle sheen to the skin. If your facial skin is OK, then you could definitely skip make-up and use this instead, as it is light-reflective and somewhat concealing. Highly recommended. Light others, at first use (straight from the 'fridge), I could not get it out of the tube, but after leaving it in a warm bathroom, had no problems at all.

I actually bought this last year (when it first came out) but didn't use it in the end, so it has stayed, unopened, in my bathroom cabinet since then. Yesterday I finally used it - first of all I was very frustrated with it as it was so solid and almost impossible to get out of the tube. We ended up stamping on the tube to try and get it out! (it didn't work; don't try it!) . I thought maybe it was because it was from last year. Then I tried poking a bamboo skewer [was also making fruit kebabs for my daughter's birthday party] down the hole and wiggling it about. This worked magically! Probably also helped that the cream had warmed up a bit too. Thereafter it was excellent. It is thick, but rubs in dreamily and doesn't leave any white film on the skin. It isn't greasy, just nicely moisturising, and smells subtly good. I'm delighted to finally find a truly natural, organic and effective sun cream from a trustworthy brand! I would have rated it 5 stars but didn't purely because of the difficulty getting it out of the tube. Excellent product.

I gave up on sunscreen and then decided to give this a go. Other sunscreens I tried before either left my combination skin very dry or they contained too many chemicals. I decided to give this a try and was a bit sceptical at first. After using this for a few weeks I absolutely love it. It keeps my skin moisturised all day long! I feel relieved that I no longer have to search for or worry about wearing a good and natural SPF again.

I have been outside in my garden with this lovely weather, and I have been using the sun screen for the past week and i have to say i love it, I had the same problem as Laura it was hard to get the cream out tube i did think there was a hidden cover inside i had to remove, it does stop the wastage or making a mess like i usually have with other brands packaging. I was worried about the slight oiliness when i applied it but after a while that wasnt a problem, i love it on my neck and hands, thank you for a lovely product i am very happy with it. :-)

This sun cream is silky soft and has a buttery scent. I love the fact that, unlike chemical sunscreens, its protection is immediate - so there's no having to remember to apply it half an hour before going outside. Although it doesn't say it on the label, I would guess it lasts as long as a chemical sun cream - I would guess about 4 hours in moderate sun. I have been looking for a reputable organic sunscreen for a long time. There are so many considerations with natural sun cream - such as how much zinc is used and the size of the zinc particles, and exactly how 'natural' the other ingredients are. I spent a long time researching brands before discovering Odylique. I'm happy with their ingredients and feel confident about their commitment to natural skin care (unlike other brands that simply want stick an 'organic' label on their products for marketing purposes). The reason I haven't give it 5 stars is because the my tube is rather solid. I have to massage the tube for a few minutes before attempting to squeeze the cream out. Once in my hands, it doesn't feel that thick at all, and it goes on really easily, but getting it out of the tube has been quite a problem. I was away when the sun cream was delivered and the parcel was in my very cold barn for a few days. I left it in the warm kitchen for 48 hours but the tube never really softened up. I do wonder if I got a particularly thick batch? Having said that, I'll put up with the struggle because I like the product so much.

We recommend that the tube is kept somewhere warm. As it has to stay stable in hot temperatures, you may find it is a little thicker in cooler temperatures than a conventional sun cream. (Do give us a ring if you still have a problem with it though!)

In regards to how long sun creams last, this is where the SPF rating is quite handy. The number (so in our case, 30) refers to a time measure. So if it takes, for example, five minutes of unprotected sun exposure before you start to burn, a sun cream with an SPF30 would protect you for roughly 30 x 5 = 150 minutes, or two and a half hours, before you need to reapply. Always best to reapply after being in water, and stay out of the sun during the hottest hours of the day. I have been waiting for a high-factor organic sun screen for a long time to protect me and my children's very fair skin...and I have not been disappointed. I actually hate applying sun screen but this product goes on like cream, smells nice, is immediately absorbed, does not attract dirt, does not feel like it is clogging my skin, and best of all, I know I am not using unhealthy or unethical products. It's the first time that I am actually happy to lather myself in sun screen...and it lasts all day. At last I have found the perfect sun screen! Thank you!

Wanted you to know that your new Natural Sun Screen arrived in time for a hot weekend and I am delighted to report that one application to my very susceptible Celtic skin lasted through the heat and exposure of Sunday – outside all day and driving around with my roof down (yippee!) proved to be totally protective. By evening, familiar freckles appearing but no redness, burning or tenderness. A really impressive performance!
Great to feel so safe and prepared for more Summer days.
